CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

It has been three years since Mittal Steel acquired 93.02% of shares of the Integrated Works "Krivorozhstal" in Ukraine. We had time to make some steps, which, hopefully, demonstrated the labor collective of the enterprise and the Ukraine society our commitment to the investment obligations specified in the provisions of the Purchase and Sale Agreement of the Integrated Works "Krivorozhstal", as well as social responsibility of our business.

Main directions of OJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih" social development are reflected in the Collective Agreement of the enterprise between the administration and the trade union.

Social Development Program includes:

• ♦ improvement of social and life conditions of the enterprise's employees
• ♦ organization of medical care and medical and preventive follow-up
• ♦ implementation of medical insurance of employees, organization of sanatorium-and-spa treatment, health improvement and rest of employees and members of their families
• ♦ maintenance and improvement of the material and technical base of health institutions
• ♦ improvement of housing conditions of the enterprise's employees
• ♦ implementation of social security and benefits
• ♦ social cooperation with the society

0.57% of the amount of products sold were allocated in 2007 in order to meet the targets for the improvement of social and life conditions of the employees. 0.68% of the amount of products sold were allocated for safety activities.

Provision of employees with hot food, its right organization is a guarantee of the employees' health and working capacity.
The Agroindustrial Complex and the Catering and Trade Department are charged with the above tasks.

The enterprise has its own medical and health centers and keeps improving them. There is a shop floor outpatient department, preventive department and 28 aid posts, equipped with the latest medical equipment, in the structure of the Medical and Sanitary Unit.

The medical service is charged with conducting annual medical examinations, provision of first-aid and emergency care to the enterprise's employees. 2,376,237 USD were allocated for maintenance of health care objects in 2007.

For the first time in the enterprise history, voluntary medical insurance was introduced. All employees were insured at the enterprise's expense. The amount of insurance payouts is the largest in Ukraine.

Two departments of sanatorium-preventorium for 400 seats operate round-the-clock. Annually 5 thousand people enjoy the opportunity of in-plant improvement of their health there. The enterprise allocates funds for sanatorium-and-spa treatment and rest of the employees in Ukrainian resorts. Employees buy vouchers at a reduced price.
